Yesterday the girls and I drove to Cleveland to pick up Grandma and Grandpa Hansen from the airport. They are out to visit and for Kaybree's blessing on Sunday. On the way home, we took a detour and went to Kirtland so they could visit the neat church history sights. First we went to the Kirtland Temple. The grounds there were beautiful, and so is the building. I didn't go inside because the temple isn't exactly stroller-friendly, but Mom and Dad did. Then we went over to the church-owned area and did a tour there. Once again, the girls and I stayed out of the buildings, but it was a beautiful day, so we had fun. On a side note, I remember as a little kid hearing things about the Kirtland Temple. Well, my grandparents lived near Kirtland........New Mexico, and we would visit them at least once a year. So, I can remember watching out the window very intently as we would pass through Kirtland looking for a temple. Of course I was always dissapointed because I was expecting to find it. And, I thought that my parents were a little nuts talking about a temple in Kirtland when there CLEARLY wasn't one. Well, I'm proud to annouce that I've finally foud it, just not in tiny Kirtland, NM. ;)
