For Halloween this year, the girls wanted to be the characters from Super Why. Kassidy thinks Daddy can build ANYTHING and Mommy can make ANYTHING. How can we let her down when she has so much confidence in us? So, to work I went, and I made our entire costumes. For the most part, I didn't have any patterns or anything to follow. For Kaybree's shirt I followed this tutorial. For Kassidy's dress, I used this tutorial as inspiration. It was a lot of fun to see them so happy with their costumes. My sewing machine bit the dust in the middle of my costume, so it didn't get finished, and most of it was made with liquid stitch (aka hot glue gun). So I know it looks like I rode the short bus to Halloween, blame it on the cut-rate sewing machine. Here's what the real Super Readers look like:
Here we are. Daddy-Alpha Pig, Mommy-Wonder Red, Kassidy-Princess Presto, Kaybree-Super Why. Colter was "Little Boy Blue" from an episode of Super Why. Little Boy Blue pooped his costume before we could get a picture...guess he didn't like his costume.
