Things Toddlers Do To Avoid Sleep

Kassidy has been trying her hardest to keep herself awake instead of napping. Her first attempt is to take whatever ponytails, clips, braids, etc are in her hair out. Then, if she is still sleepy, she will lay there and count from 1-10 at the top of her lungs, over and over again. If counting fails, she will start on her ABC's, again at the top of her voice, and again, over and over (don't tell, her, but I secretly love listening to her do this...for a little while). If she gets tired of these things, she resorts to kicking the wall through her crib rails. Usually this results in Mom or Dad coming into her room (ah a victory, she thinks). Mom or Dad will rub her back and calm her down (we think), then leave the room. Then, as soon as she thinks we're far enough away, quickly as she can, she jumps up onto her feet, grabs her crib rail, and starts jumping up and down yelling "JUMP, JUMP, JUMP." And, finally, she will resort to undressing and re-dressing herself. This can be pretty frustrating to Mom and Dad, but, what can you do? So, the other day she went through this whole process. Finally I decided to just get her out of bed. This is what she looked like the rest of the day until Daddy got home and took pity on her and fixed her shirt.

Although I am sure this is pretty frustrating, I couldn't help but laugh at all the things she does!!!! How cute.

Hilarious!!! I guess there comes a point in all happy parents lives when the naps end. :(

You are absolutely genius funny! At least she practices educational/developmental activities while trying to sleep...lol. Joanna usually just slams the door over and over--it's lovely.

This is just too cute. I know how frustrating it is when they won't go to sleep, but then when you walk in and find this, how can you help but to laugh. I miss you all so much.

She's sportin' a great look there. Pretty soon, she'll be setting the toddler trends. Watch out!

Your girls are so cute!

Adalyn likes to take her diaper off...if that is all she is wearing. But I guess the clothes are not holding Kassidy back!

Good luck with that! :-)

I'm sorry that I am laughing at your expense. That is just too freaking cute. I can remember those frustrating times, but you know what, I actually miss them a bit now.
