Yesterday we made the trek to Cleveland to go to Costco (that's the closest one). On the way home we took a small detour and went to the Kirtland Temple. It is only about a mile off the freeway, and when we came up over a small hill and it came into view, both Levi and I got the chills. It is an amazing and beautiful building! We didn't get to go inside because it was already closed for the day, but we plan on going back when it's not quite so cold so we can tour the church-owned part of Kirtland also. (BTW I did not take this picture...I didn't have my camera!) We are so excited to live in an area so rich with U. S. and church history! Anyone want to come visit?

I do!!! I'm jealous...that would be so cool to see!
Of course I want to come visit. Sometime in the next couple of years I would hope that I could make it there. That is, if you want me to. Mom is going to start reading the Prelude to Glory series again and she wants to map out all of the historical stuff that happened during the revolutionary war peroid. Then when she and dad come to visit you, she might be able to see some of the sites.
How awesome. Maybe when we come out to visit Gus and I will have to drive to catch the Church history sites along the way.
I guess you have all kinds of history around you. Church and country.
I know we didn't get to see you all that often before but we miss you. It feels like you are so far away.....I guess that's cause you are.
I've always wanted to travel in that area and see all the church history sites. How fortunate you are to be able to have this opportunity. Even though it is freezing this time of year:)
I am glad you found my blog! LOVE Kirtland! It is so fun to live close to all the church sites! I have been to Kirtland like 6 times but keep wanting to go back, seriously LOVE it!
